MLK Weekend of Service 2023
Date: January 14-16, 2023
Description: 150 volunteers over the MLK holiday weekend participated in several volunteer activities which resulted in:
- 30 bags of trash cleaned up off Hall St and Main St with the Youth Advisory Council,
- Over 1,400 plastic eggs prepped for our community egg hunt in the spring,
- 3,000 feet of ivy pulled from Cook Park,
- 108 wheelbarrows of bark placed along Dirksen Park Nature Trail with the Tualatin Riverkeepers,
- 780 boxes prepped, 80 boxes filled, and more! with Packed with Pride, and
- 10 trees planted in Cook Park.
El Tigre Fest

Description: Numerous volunteers participated at our first El Tigre fest on October 15, 2022 at Dirksen Nature Park.
Help a Neighbor in Need!
Date: Saturday July 30, 2022
Description: A group of volunteers provided physical support to help clean the outdoor area (pulling weeds, removing stored debris or garbage) for a community member in need.
Earth Day
Date: April 24, 2022
Description: 40 volunteers participated in a variety of volunteer activities for Earth Day including a street clean up on Hall Blvd, ivy removal at Cook Park and ivy removal at Dirksen Park.
MLK Weekend of Service
Date: January 15-17, 2022
Description: Over 100 volunteers participated in a variety of volunteer activities over the weekend to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Projects included street clean up, ivy removal and bark placement, tree plantings, and library special projects.

Community Mural
Date: May 2021
Description: Over 300 community members participated in the creation of a community mural. 40 volunteers assisted in tent set up and take down, check ins, and more!
Bike Repair Clinic & Helmet Sale
Date: Friday, March 6, 2020
Description: A small group of volunteers helped to properly fit helmets on children and assist with bike repairs. 120 people attended, 15 bikes were repaired, and 70 helmets were sold.
Prep for Community Egg Hunt
Date: Monday, February 10, 2020
Description: 12 volunteers assembled thousands of plastic eggs and bags in preparation for Tigard's 5th Annual Community Egg Hunt.
Project Homeless Connect
Date: Friday, October 4, 2019
Description: Through this one-day, one-stop model we aimed to achieve the following goals:
- To engage the community to be a part of the effort to end homelessness,
- To connect Washington County homeless to needed services in a “one-stop” model, and
- To demonstrate broad community support to those experiencing homelessness in Washington County and to provide human connections to people who feel and are typically alienated.
Street Fair & Latino Festival
Date: Saturday, September 7, 2019
Description: Partnered with the Tigard Downtown Alliance to have volunteers for the festival.
Fun Run
Date: Saturday, September 7, 2019
Description: Volunteers set up fun run course and take down. Volunteers also helped direct runners during the race.
Born Learning Trail Signs
Location: Cook Park
Description: Volunteers helped with the installation of Born Learning trail signs. The signs offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families.
Property Cleanup
Description: An 80-year old resident, who is battling health issues, needed help bringing her property into compliance with city code. Volunteers removed high weeds, grass, and debris around the property.
