Red Rock Creek Trail
Winding alongside Red Rock Creek, the proposed 2-mile trail will be an attractive and accessible addition to Tigard’s impressive trail system connecting northern Tigard to natural resources in the Tigard Triangle and the Fanno Creek Regional Trail in the south. This trail will provide a missing connection and provide equitable access to recreation in an underserved part of Tigard.
Designed as a multi-use trail, Red Rock Creek Trail will be accessible to all non-motorized users and will include interpretive viewpoints of the Red Rock Creek natural area. When completed, it will significantly enhance the quality of life for all Tigard residents.
Red Rock Creek Trail Alignment Study
December 2022 – December 2023
City of Tigard Community Development is working with a local transportation consulting team to identify a preferred alternative alignment for this 2-mile-long trail. The project goal is to determine the best layout for the trail given the existing conditions, development activity and future growth. This planning process will last approximately one year, collaborating with the city, stakeholder groups, and through public outreach. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate and refine alignments through the corridor based on the following criteria:
- User experience
- Connectivity/Continuity
- Environmental Impacts
- Ease of Permitting
- Cost, Constructability & Funding
- Property Ownership
- Safety, Security & Community Support
Construction of the trail is not yet planned.
