Growing Plants and Community Connections

Our community garden program is all about growing—growing vegetables, fruits, flowers and community connections. As a Community Garden member you have the exclusive use of one garden plot along with shared responsibility for the common areas.

Whatever your reason for gardening, get growing today!

Note: Garden plots limited to one plot per household. Two ADA accessible garden plots are available at Metzger Community Garden. Registration opens each year on February 1 for an available plot or to join the waiting list.

Greenfield Community Garden

Jack Park Community Garden

Thirteen garden plots are located at the south end of the park near the Walnut Street fire station.

Metzger Community Garden

The Metzger School Community Garden was completed as part of a partnership between the City of Tigard, Tigard-Tualatin School District and SupaFresh Youth Farm. Several volunteers have also devoted time and effort to the project.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

The Parks & Rec Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for city residents to participate in Recreation Program activities (including Community Gardens).

$300 scholarships (per household, per calendar year) cover 75% of the registration fee for Tigard Parks & Recreation programs and events.
Program activities include community gardens, day camps, babysitting training, adult craft classes, and partner organization classes like U.S. Youth Volleyball League, Soccer Shots, and engineering with LEGO.

How to apply:

Fill out a scholarship program application (Guia para Becas) or request a paper copy: 503-718-2697 or recreation@tigard-or.gov.
Return the completed application along with proof of residency and demonstrated need.
Once approved, register for programs and events offered by Tigard Parks and Recreation. Your scholarship is automatically applied to future registrations.
