Councilor Hu is a food & drug lawyer whose practice focuses on FDA law and regulation.  Prior to his legal career, Yi was a research scientist and earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Yi has volunteered with several community organizations and served on many of their boards and committees.  At the city level, Yi’s community involvement includes Tigard Transportation Advisory Committee and Tigard Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in addition to the Planning Commission.

Born in Taiwan, Yi immigrated to the United States with his family when he was a child.  He came to Oregon to attend college in the ‘90s and has called Oregon home ever since.
