Enterprise Zone Program Overview & Requirements (updated 9/2023)
Enterprise Zone
Manufacturing in the Tigard/Lake Oswego Enterprise Zone
As shown above in gold, this investment area covers the majority of industrial, commercial and employment lands in Tigard and the Southwest Employment Area in Lake Oswego.
The Enterprise Zone supports private investment and job creation. In the City of Tigard, six firms are currently eligible to participate in the Enterprise Zone program. Combined, these firms are expected to make more than $10.1 million in new capital investments and employ more than 930 residents from Tigard and around the region. Participating firms range from biotech companies to electronics manufacturers.
Business Qualifications
The Enterprise Zone offers qualified businesses that are located within a defined boundary, a three to five year tax exemption on new investment (equipment, buildings, and facilities) when the firm also invests in new employees by increasing their workforce by 10%.
The Enterprise Zone tax exemption is especially useful for manufacturers, headquarters locations, exporters and traded-sector firms that are making capital investments and increasing their workforce.
The first step in determining if your firm is eligible is to contact the Economic Development Team at TigardEconomicDevelopment@tigard-or.gov
- Does your business qualify as an eligible business?
- Is your location within the zone?
- Will you meet the state and local requirements?
