Safe Routes to School
Murdock Street Project
Murdock Street is a narrow neighborhood street with little to no shoulder space along most of the roadway. Steep drainage ditches line the road in some spots, making walking space very limited. The City of Tigard desires to create a safe route along Murdock Street for both pedestrians and cyclists.
Construction Update - 4/15/2024
Construction of the Murdock Street and Stormwater project has been moved to start in the spring of 2025. During final design and permitting efforts, a utility determined that they wouldn’t be able to meet our expected timeframe for utility relocation to allow construction to being this summer. We are currently coordinating with the utility to limit the impacts to the public as much as possible. However, you may see utility relocation efforts begin as early as summer 2024.
Revised Schedule:
- Utility Relocations: Summer 2024 – Spring 2025
- Construction Bidding: January 2025
- Construction: Spring 2025
*Construction near the middle and elementary schools (below 100th Ave) will start once the school year has ended to limit impacts on students getting to school.
