Lasich PropertyProject Description

The project will develop a plan for a future community park at the Lasich Property.  The project includes public outreach to key stakeholders groups to identify the recreational facilities needed at the park. The Lasich Property will also provide public access to the Tualatin River.

This will be done in three phases: First, planning; second, design, engineering, and permitting; and third, construction, with grant proposals to be submitted to the Oregon State Marine Board for funding support.  The project as currently budgeted includes the master plan and river access design only, not construction.

2018 Lasich Property Concept Plan

TIMELINE: FY22-

FUNDING SOURCES: Parks System Development Charges Fund; Oregon State Marine Board grant.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COSTS: There will be no additional operations and maintenance costs since the project is providing design of a future facility.

WHY IT’S NEEDED: Tigard is experiencing significant population growth and will need an additional community park in the future. To plan for this need, a 28-acre parcel, known as the Lasich Property, was purchased at the intersection of Southwest Beef Bend and Roy Rogers roads.  The site is envisioned to provide additional sports fields to better meet demand. The site is also located on the Tualatin River and offers the opportunity to provide additional access to the river, which has become very popular for paddling in the past decade.

STRATEGIC PLAN TIE-IN: Advances our vision of becoming a walkable, healthy and accessible community for everyone.
