Rx Drug Takeback Day with Tigard Police

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Drive by and drop off unwanted and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications at the National Drug Take Back Day event on Saturday, April 27th.

The Tigard Police Department is hosting this event to make it easier for residents to safely discard medications to keep them out of our waterways and prevent their misuse and abuse.  

Event details: 

  • Date/Time: Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM 
  • Location: Tigard Police Department, 13125 SW Hall Boulevard
  • This service is free and anonymous.
  • Drugs turned in will be securely incinerated.

What to bring/instructions:

  • All solid dosage pharmaceutical product and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted.
  • Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain tightly sealed in their original container to prevent leakage. 
  • Over-the-counter medicines can be dropped off. We don't accept non-medicated shampoos, soaps or lotions. 
  • Drugs can either be left in the original container or combined with other medications in another container or bag. The labels from prescription containers can be left on or removed. We do recommend that you cover sensitive information with a permanent marker.

We cannot accept:

  • Thermometers, intra-venous solutions, EpiPens, injectables, syringes, chemotherapy medications or any medical waste due to potential hazards posed by blood-borne pathogens.
  • Medications from nursing homes, doctors’ offices or any type of medical facility or business.
  • Illicit substances such as methamphetamine. 
  • Combustible and vaping products.
