Three Juveniles Arrested After Theft Spree Over the past weekend, Tigard Police investigated a rash of vehicle break-ins occurring in the neighborhoods along Pacific Highway near Canterbury Lane and Gaarde Street. As of Saturday morning, January 19th, police had taken seven reports of vehicles unlawfully entered. In most incidents, the victims reported property missing from their vehicles. By late Saturday morning as victims began to discover their vehicles damaged or property missing, police were closing in on the arrests of two sixteen year-olds and a seventeen year-old allegedly responsible for the crime spree. Tigard Police were also able to recover most of the missing property-including a gun and ammunition which was taken from a vehicle during the night. Police returned most of the items to the rightful owners throughout the weekend. The trio was lodged at Donald E. Long in Portland on multiple charges of Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, Theft I and Criminal mischief. Additionally, two of the juvenile boys were also charged with a burglary which indirectly was connected to the vehicle crimes. |
